We will explore the strange and wonderful world of hockey — NHL and AHL specifically — but do not be surprised if we veer slightly off topic occasionally. Rather than play-by-play recaps, or charts and graphs of statistics, the stories that appear on this blog will be far more eccentric and will cover historical and contemporary events, players, goaltenders, masks, pads, equipment and any other hockey related issues from a fan’s perspective. Do not be surprised by an odd article on zambonis or pucks as well. Keep in mind, this is the more unconventional and entertaining side of hockey.

Artfulpuck is an art historian who loves history, art, travel, nature, wine and oh, don’t forget hockey! You just gotta love a sport like that! Follows the Vancouver Canucks and their AHL affiliate the Manitoba Moose Chicago Wolves Utica Comets, the Edmonton Oilers and their former AHL affiliate players from the Oklahoma City Barons, the Washington Capitals and Nashville Predators. Artfulpuck has also been known to cheer for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Tampa Bay Lightning and …. to be honest, hockey is great fun and worth watching no matter who is on the ice!
