The 2011-12 Oklahoma City Barons team and their season was just magical and it is one that both players and fans will always look back upon with very fond memories. And anyone who followed OKC’s team that season will well remember one of their fan favorites, Ryan O’Marra.
This season O’Marra joined the EIHL’s Coventry Blaze after playing in Europe the past two seasons. Last week he announced his intention to retire at the end of this season to begin work for the National Bank Financial Markets in Canada, however he still had one major goal to achieve before he hung up his skates.
“I have won the World Junior Championships and now I would love my first trophy in pro,” said O’Marra.
O’Marra’s team the Coventry Blaze were headed to the playoffs and today he reached his goal as the Blaze beat the Sheffield Steelers 4-2 to win the 2015 EIHL playoffs and their first post-season title since 2004-05.
Congratulations to Ryan O’Marra and all the best in the future! And Congratulations to the EIHL’s Coventry Blaze! Well done!
