Martin Gerber, OKC Barons goaltender during the 2010-11 season, has extended his contract with the Kloten Flyers (NLA) for another season through 2016 (Sept. 9, 2014). After departing the Oilers organization Gerber signed with the SHL’s Växjö Lakers for 2011-12, and Rögle in 2012-13. He returned to Switzerland, joining the Kloten Flyers beginning in the 2013-14 season and has continued to represent Switzerland in their international tournaments.

Jeff Deslauriers, also part of the 2010-11 OKC Barons goaltending duo with Martin Gerber, has been rumored to be joining the Los Angeles Kings on a tryout basis. Deslauriers, after departing the Oilers organization, played most of the next two seasons with the Anaheim Ducks organization before being traded to the Minnesota Wild organization in April 2013. Last season, Deslauriers played with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins (AHL).

Milan Kytnár, with the OKC Barons for 2010-11 and part of 2011-12, has signed with HC Banska Bystrica in Slovakia (Sept. 2, 2014). After departing Stockton in 2012, he was loaned to HPK where he finished the season, and the following season he joined the KHL club HC Slovan Bratislava. In 2013-14 Kytnár played in the Czech Republic with HC Karlovy Vary.

Matt Marquardt, with the OKC Barons for 2010-11, has signed with ESV Kaufbeuren (DEL2) (Sept. 2, 2014). Marquardt joined the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors following his season with the Barons, and was traded to the Florida Everblades in Jan. 2012. The Everblades extended his contract for the following season, and he was then loaned to the Charlotte Checkers in Feb. 2013. The Checkers signed him to an AHL contract the following season in 2013-14.

Derek Nesbitt, who played with the OKC Barons for part of 2013-14, has signed with the Italian team HC Bolzano, part of the Austria league (Aug. 20, 2014). Nesbitt was traded to San Antonio Rampage (AHL) in mid Jan. 2014, who then traded him to the Chicago Wolves in early Feb. 2014.

All the best to Martin, Jeff, Milan, Matt and Derek!
