Philip Larsen, with the OKC Barons for 7 games in 2013-14, signed a 1-year contract with the KHL team Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk on May 28th. Larsen joined the Oilers last summer as part of the Edmonton Oilers-Dallas Stars trade that sent Shawn Horcoff to Dallas. Larsen will join another former Oilers-OKC Barons player Toni Rajala who also recently signed with Ugra for next season.
Brad Moran, with the OKC Barons for the 2010-11 season, re-signed with EHC Linz Black Wings (EBEL) back in mid April. Moran was an Alternate Captain while with the Barons during their inaugural season. Following that season he spent two seasons with the Växjö Lakers (SHL) and part of a season with SaiPa (Liiga) before spending last season with the Linz Black Wings.
Chet Pickard, with the OKC Barons for the 2013-14 season, played most of his time in Bakersfield (ECHL), signs with the Odense Bulldogs in the Danish Metal Ligaen – June 10, 2014. Pickard should do well in Odense and be a major component of this coming season’s team. Pickard has experienced the northern European leagues before in his 2012-13 season when he played with Djurgården in the Swedish Allsvenskan league.
Garrett Stafford, with the OKC Barons for part of 2012-13, has signed with Ässät in the Finnish Liiga (June 3). Last season he played a short time with Färjestad (SHL) and ended the season with Genève-Servette (NLH). He joined the OKC Barons as part of a trade in April 2013 when the Edmonton Oilers traded Dane Byers to the Washington Capitals (Hershey Bears) in return for Stafford who reassigned to the OKC Barons.
