The OKC Barons open their 2012-13 season tonight in Cleveland against the Lake Erie Monsters. If you have not yet heard about the OKC Barons this season you must have been ignoring hockey lately. With the likes of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle, Justin Schultz and soon to arrive Taylor Hall, the Barons are the wunderkind of the AHL at the moment.

The Oilers and Barons have released a number of options how to listen to the games this weekend. Tonight’s game in Cleveland begins at 6:35 CT (puck drop) and Saturday’s game begins as 12 noon CT.

Tonight’s Barons game will be broadcast over 630 CHED Edmonton News Talk Sports Radio and begins with a pregame show at 5pm Edmonton time (6pm CT).

The Oilers have provided a Game Day Preview page with viewing options (AHL Live) and Radio options (630 CHED) as well as information about the two teams along with recent videos and interviews with the Barons, and Game Notes for Friday’s Game.

The Barons and AHL have also announced the two season openers will be broadcast on Sirius/XM.

The OKC Barons Information page provides details for local radio options: “Friday’s game can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY at 6:30 p.m. (ct). Saturday’s game can be heard on AM-1340 at noon (ct).”
