Sunday afternoon the OKC Barons and Yann Danis recorded the first shutout of the season with a win over the Houston Aeros 2-0. The Barons only scored once on a power play, however, they killed all six Houston power plays. Thus far, the Barons have a perfect penalty kill rating at home games.

Yann Danis was the game’s first star, saving all 28 shots on goal. Philippe Cornet and Ryan O’Marra were chosen as the game’s second and third stars of the night.

Philippe Cornet scored both goals Sunday, the first goal at 12:49 in the first period, assisted by O’Marra and House. The second goal, scored in the second, at 15:52 on a power play, was assisted by Keller and Green. At 18:33 in the first period, Ryan Keller was given the first Barons’ penalty shot of the season but was unable to score on Dennis Endras, who saved 14 of 16 shots on goal for the Houston Aeros.
