Amur Khabarovsk (Амур Хабаровск) announced the signing of Kirill Tulupov, former OKC Barons defenseman, on November 13th and he played with the team today in their first game following the long KHL break. On November 2nd, Tulupov and Avtomobilist had mutually agreed to terminate his contract.
Good luck Kirill! We will be watching!
The KHL team Amur Khabarovsk might be familiar to OKC fans since that is where Yann Danis played during his 2010-11 season. To familiarize yourself with the KHL I highly recommend @ChunkletsHockey‘s blog The Road to Khabarovsk. There is good reason for that name on a blog about Russian hockey since Khabarovsk is located in the far eastern region of Russia near Japan and it is the most eastern team in the KHL. That also makes it the team with the most horrific travel schedule of any hockey team in the world — and let’s not even begin to talk about the time differences. You have to get up early — VERY EARLY — to watch a game being played in Khabarovsk. удачи!
See the map below with Khabarovsk highlighted to the far right.

Many thanks for the mention!
Mr. Tulupov did indeed make his debut for Amur yesterday in Novokuznetsk, and played 16:19, which is more than he was getting with Avtomobilist. I hope he has an excellent time in Khabarovsk, and that the travel isn’t too onerous. Amur are off in western Siberia at the moment. They go home after their game against Sibir on Saturday, and then don’t play again until next Thursday (several days off is standard KHL scheduling procedure for Amur when they get back from road trips).
Thanks for the update! I was able to watch the game this morning and am planning to be up very early for the upcoming Sibir game on Saturday. That calls for a very early wake up and lots of strong hot coffee!
