Teemu Hartikainen was injured early in the 2nd period when he was tripped by Stanton and slid awkwardly across the ice into the boards. He never returned to the game.

The three stars of the night were Philippe Cornet, Brian Connelly and David LeNeveu.

This afternoon the OKC Barons return to Grand Rapids to face the Griffins at 4pm central time. After Friday’s game, it should be interesting! The AHL Media Kit has listed two referees for tonight’s game — unusual but no doubt necessary based on Friday’s night game.

UPDATE: From the AHL website: “The American Hockey League today announced that Grand Rapids Griffins defenseman Garnet Exelby has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of a spearing incident in a game vs. Oklahoma City on Nov. 25. Exelby will miss Grand Rapids’ game today (Nov. 27) vs. Oklahoma City.”
